‘My new diet is now going to include superfoods!’ exclaimed my friend as he finally made a decision about following a proper diet. Many of my other friends who were listening were just intrigued by the ‘super’ in the superfoods. While there is no shortage of gimmicks and hype around ever growing trends, the question is just how ‘super’ and important are superfoods?
Unlike most ‘super’ related stories, the truth about superfoods is simple (No, they do not don capes or make you fly). Superfoods are highly nutrient-dense foods and are beneficial in terms of preventing various diseases. These foods do more than just help you meet your normal requirement of vitamins, minerals, and compounds. They can help you achieve better health, prevent heart diseases and improve your mood too. All in all, a great package for the ‘super’ when you can look younger and lose a few pounds on the waist!
The Ever Changing
As consumption of junk and sugary food increases, it's important to strike a balance that improves your health. Obesity and ill lifestyle habits are the biggest problems that hinder our goals towards fitness. Since most healthy trends focus on getting the best for your body, the buzz of superfoods has recently come in limelight because of its unique benefits and could prove to be the game changer. Aid it with regular exercise and a well-balanced diet, and superfoods could essentially bring out the ‘super’ in you!
